Problem Statement
The Kempe Center required a training solution to disseminate and replicate the Nurse Home Visitation (NHV) Program. Nurses receive extensive instructor-led training, however, there was no intervention in place that would allow the nurses to practice the skills and theory models that are introduced to them in their first training session. The nurses leave training with a general sense of "feeling overwhelmed" and that more hands-on practice is needed. The critical and sensitive material needed to be delivered in a standard method and available at all times nationwide.

Situation Analysis
The Nurse Home Visitation (NHV) Program is a program of the National Center for Children, Families and Communities (NCCFC). The program consists of prenatal and early childhood home visits by nurses trained in a preventive intervention model. The module that we produced in a WBT format is a skill development tutorial that nurses can utilize after training to enhance their knowledge of and practice that skill.

Rationale
We chose an online environment for our tutorial to allow for accessibility. We designed the module according to the audience analysis specifications. The nurses had access to a computer at work if not at home, and an intermediate level of computer knowledge. We chose the A-S-K-S Assessment tool as the subject of our WBT tutorial and created case-based scenarios for interactive learning.

Results Report
The Kempe Center reviewed and accepted this design document and later the tutorial itself. The ASKS Assessment Tutorial is going to be used as a starting point for the rest of the WBT tutorials produced for the Kempe Center.

Evidence of Value
This project added a great deal of value to both the Kempe Center and myself. The Kempe Center received the design and development of a WBT tutorial for minimal cost, only the time and effort of their in house instructional designer. For our collaborative group, we were able to work with an outside party that evaluated and approved our design and development efforts. This simulation was effective providing a basis for project management and collaborative instructional design which are critical skills in the workplace.

Reflections
The Kempe Center project was a collaborative project including 6 cohort members, my role for the needs analysis assignment was project manager. I collected, reviewed and tried to standardize each team member's front end analysis section and reflection paragraphs. This was a lot more difficult than I thought it would be! At first I thought that we could collect everyone's section, edit and go. That was certainly not the case! I really enjoyed the team process; it was never difficult to come to a consensus regarding style and content issues.

One of the other responsibilities that I had on this project is the continued point of contact for our team, which was challenging and rewarding together. I enjoyed the chance to project manage and be a point of contact in a relatively safe learning environment. I also felt that the Kempe point of contact was great to work with. Chris Thornam was our contact person; she is an instructional designer with a background in nursing. She was the perfect SME/ID!

Responsibilities Met
Responsibility #2- Designs instruction or human performance strategy to meet the needs of learners. We conducted a comprehensive audience analysis and organizational analysis to ensure that we met the needs of the learners.

Responsibility #4-Understands how to capitalize on the capacities and abilities of each learner. We chose an online environment to reach a widely dispersed audience and ensure a standard method of information delivery. The need for standard delivery was stressed by the Kempe Center, their need was to replicate the materials in an exact format in order to achieve the desired results.

Responsibility #5-Manages complex projects and resources in support of learning. This project allowed me to play the role of project manager and as the point of contact with the Kempe Center.
